I’m formulating a list of days out near Hungerford to places which are currently closed but which I’d like to visit once lockdown is eased. Normally I yearn for adventure, but my list is mainly focused on revisiting old favourites. Perhaps we’ve had enough surprises for one year?
Lisbon is a beautiful, colourful and lively city by the sea. We visited with our two boys (aged six and nice) during the October half-term holidays. The 9yo has declared it his favourite city and here’s why.

The Costa de la Luz isn’t only about glorious beaches – there are picture perfect hilltop towns and historical sites to visit too. I had plans of outings to local cities and sights (in the early morning to escape the heat) and spending lazy afternoons by the pool. But we took the kids to our local beach, El Palmar, on the first day, and we were all bitten by the beach bug.
